Treatwell and SumUp partner to ‘financially empower’ beauty players
Treatwell, which describes itself as the leading digital booking platform for the beauty industry in Europe, and SumUp, which considers itself the leading payment technology company, have joined forces to bring credit card acceptance to merchants within the beauty services space.
The pair of companies say they are “bringing the beauty industry into the cashless society by providing innovative payment solutions to practitioners - to the benefit of both business owner and customer.”
Madeleine Raynel, UK Country Manager of Treatwell commented: “Regardless of their size, stature or specialty, we help our partners use the latest technologies from SumUp, Google, Instagram and other digital platforms to attract new customers and retain current clients as they go about their business of making the world a more beautiful place.”
How will it work?
As a result of the two tech solutions providers joining forces, payments can now be seamlessly taken via the Treatwell Connect app and processed by SumUp. While before the two functions - booking and payment - had to be completed separately, now they can take place in one transaction through the same mobile platform.
The two companies say that the digitisation of the payment process for Treatwell Partners will leave entrepreneurs with more time to focus on what services they offer, while reducing admin and providing a smoother payment process to customers.
Marc-Alexander Christ, Founder of SumUp commented “Our mission is to empower businesses worldwide no matter how unique, small or mobile. This passion to support and help entrepreneurs thrive is something we share with Treatwell and this partnership is a step towards making 25,000 Treatwell merchants Europe-wide succeed by offering them card acceptance”.
He continues: “Accepting card and NFC payments is a chance for small businesses to target more consumers, potentially growing their revenue, but it lets them do it in their own way and at their own pace.”
