Chanel N°5 unveils new ad with Margot Robbie & Jacob Elordi

Chanel recently revealed that Hollywood actress Margot Robbie was the new muse and ambassador​ for its famous N°5 scent and today it shared that it also signed up actor-of-the-moment Jacob Elordi to star in a mini movie campaign with Robbie.

The short film, entitled ‘See You at Five’ was shot by the Sicilian film director Luca Guadagnino in California.

The storyline shows Robbie and Elordi arranging a meet-up at 5pm but not agreeing a location, then driving past each other on a Californian coastal road, each heading to the other’s home. The film ends with Robbie diving into a swimming pool and the audience never knowing if she ever met up with her lover.  

The brand noted that Guadagnino directed the film in 35mm to “better reveal the grain of the skin, the tremors of a first date that vibrate between a woman and the object of her desire.”

According to Chanel, the two-minute, 20 second film is built on a “rigorously articulated, meticulously conceived scenario that justly illustrates the sophisticated, resolutely modern universe of the iconic Chanel fragrance as well as the captivating, liberated feminine personality at its centre, combining flamboyance, humour, and irreverence.”

Robbie commented that it was “incredible” to be a part of Chanel N°5’s long line of impressive ambassadors.

“There’s such an impressive lineage of women who’ve been associated with the fragrance over the years. I am very honoured to be joining that long list of incredible talents,” she said.

The last Chanel N°5 campaign film was released four years ago and featured the French actress Marion Cotillard.
