SPF moisturiser utilises airless packaging trend with Rieke dispenser
UK-based cosmetics and personal care manufacturer Potter & Moore (P&M) has chosen global packaging firm Rieke’s airless dispenser for its SPF15 moisturiser drawing upon the trend for airless packaging.

The airless dispensing system prevents contact between the formulation and oxygen to ensure efficacy of the product, which was a key requirement in the consideration of packaging, according to Potter & Moore.

In line with this, as part of the Groomed range, the SPF15 moisturiser formulation consists of ingredients to protect the skin against sun damage and help with signs of aging, which are generally oxidation-sensitive.

Using airless dispensing systems is a trend that has been strongly observed globally over the last couple of years combining the need to maintain efficacy with visually pleasing styles.

Likewise, style and ease of use were also important factors for Potter & Moore, "Rieke's Airless Dispenser has proved to be a good choice combining a stylish appearance on shelf with user-friendly operation" commented Anna Wood, product manager at Potter & Moore. "It has created an ideal complement to the rest of the range."

In line with this, Rieke’s airless dispenser is 50ml in size and consists of a pre-assembled one-piece follower piston, pumping air via a valve system.

It can handle various types of viscous products and the design includes a suck-back feature that pulls the product back into the nozzle for clean and hygienic dispensing.

Decorating options include hot foil blocking and banding, silk screen printing, thermal transfer printing and shrink sleeves.
