Former P&G CEO A.G Lafley joins private equity firm

Former Procter and Gamble President and CEO, A.G Lafley, has joined private equity firm Clayton, Dubilier and Rice (CD&R) as a special partner.

During his 32-year career at P&G, Lafley held a variety of leadership positions including that of board chairman from 2002-2009.

Lafley helped to transform the P&G business, and under his leadership, company sales more than doubled from $38bn to $79bn in 2009. In addition, the number of billion-dollar brands at P&G grew from 10 to 24.

"A.G. has proven to be one of the most effective corporate leaders of the 21st century, and we are very pleased to welcome him to CD&R,"​ said Donald J. Gogel, President CEO at CD&R.
