Elementis Specialties acquires natural ingredients supplier

Elementis Specialties, a manufacturer of rheological modifiers, has acquired the Fanning Corporation and its subsidiary Fancor, one of the largest North American suppliers of lanolin and lanolin derivatives.

According to Holger Heidemann, Elementis’ business unit director for consumer products, the acquisition will allow the company to strengthen its position within the natural ingredients market.

“In addition, the Fancor products allow us to have a better penetration into the hair and skin care market, where currently we do miss a bit access too,” he added.

Elementis now offers an expanded portfolio of specialty additives to the global personal care market, for use in products such as anti-perspirants and color cosmetics products.
