Oriflame’s cosmetics are currently produced in a factory in Warsaw, Poland, but will instead be manufactured via a variety of different partners based in Europe.
For instance, its skin care formulas will now be produced in France.
The closure of the current Polish facility is set to take place over the next two years.
Oriflame said this move give it access to a wider range of technologies, specialised expertise and advanced manufacturing processes.
In a press statement the company said the move would help it “gain access to more diverse technologies, specialised expertise, and advanced manufacturing processes than those currently available at its single Europe production site in Warsaw, Poland.”
Oriflame also said it would “uphold its existing terms and conditions with suppliers and customers” throughout the transition.
Rapidly evolving beauty industry
Commenting on the decision, Oriflame Group’s CEO, Anna Malmhake, noted the how rapidly the industry is evolving and being “fuelled by advancements in technology and shifting consumer demands.”
Malmhake said the company is evolving its business model “to ensure we have the capabilities to deliver ever-more innovative products at an ever-greater speed to our network of global entrepreneurs and consumers.”
The company has been increasingly focused on the use of new technology in the R&D process and recently spoke to CosmeticsDesign-Europe about its experiences using AI for fragrance development.
