We’ve rounded up some of the innovations showcased at CES 2025 this week.

This week, some of the world’s biggest beauty and technology companies gathered in Las Vegas to launch cutting-edge tech innovations that could impact the future of the beauty industry. Here’s what you need to know from the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) 2025.

L’Oréal Group, L’Oréal Cell BioPrint

The new longevity-science-based device provides personalised skin analysis in just five minutes, using advanced proteomics, which is the study of how protein composition in the human body affects skin ageing.

L’Oréal Group said the device “reveals how mechanisms in the human body can affect skin’s appearance.”

Cell BioPrint was created in partnership with the Korean startup NanoEnTek and produces a personalised skin assessment in minutes that can assess:

• Skin’s biological age to calculate skin’s age, determine how fast it is ageing and provide personalised advice on how to slow down the appearance of ageing.

• Predict personal responsiveness to certain key ingredients, eg retinol.

• Predict potential skin issues before they become visible.

L’Oréal said the innovation is backed by decades of research and knowledge building by L’Oréal’s Advanced Research team, which identified, for the first time, unique biomarkers in the skin that can indicate key components of healthy-looking skin and longevity.

The device uses NanoEntek’s exclusive microfluidic lab-on-a-chip technology, which leverages some of the startups’ 100+ patents to measure the presence of L’Oréal‘s protein biomarkers in five minutes.

Amorepacfic Wanna Beauty AI

AmorePacific has launched the first generative AI-based, voice-activated chatbot to help customers discover their ideal makeup looks and experience personalised virtual try-ons. It combines AI face segmentation with large language models that have been trained in makeup trends and enhanced stable diffusion.

It uses voice recognition to chat with consumers and understand their needs. It can also apply virtual makeup and give highly realistic images.

The company said this “eliminates the need for physical trials or consultations.”

Samsung Electronics, MICRO LED Beauty Mirror

The high-tech, movable smart mirror offers a fully integrated smart display.

The magical device integrates Amorepacific’s AI Skin Analysis & Care Solution, so users can visualise makeup and skin care regimes.

It shows to-do lists, calendars and local weather – all personalised to the user – and functions as a smart TV. It even analyses skin issues and offers makeup recommendations based on your calendar.

Withings Smart Mirror

French company, Withings, also introduced a health and wellness-focused smart mirror concept – Omnia – at the show.

This works by measuring user’s weight, metabolic health, and heart health. It can also take medical data from other trackers (such as connected watches or blood pressure trackers for example).

It has a built-in AI voice assistant with real-time feedback and sends health data directly to the user’s doctor.

Digital Cent Fragrance Capsules

The South Korean startup, which is funded by the government, showcased smartphone-controlled granule capsules that allow users to mix and match scents and create custom fragrances.

L’Oréal Group Mood Mirror

Another innovation from the French multinational. The AI-powered mirror detects users' emotional reactions to different makeup looks to help steer them toward shades and styles that make them feel happy.

The mirror’s technology builds upon L’Oréal’s existing expertise in virtual try-on technology and AI-powered beauty recommendations.
