From Margot Robbie to Sabrina Carpenter, we take a look at some of the famous faces that have recently signed up to promote the cosmetics’ industry’s biggest brands

These days we’ve gotten more used to seeing celebrities pedalling their own cosmetics businesses. However, these six beauty brands have gone old-school and started the autumn season with a global superstar on their ad billboards and Instagram pages....

Valentino x Charli XCX

The lady who coined the ‘Brat Girl Summer’ viral revolution has landed a partnership with L’Oreal-owned cosmetics label Valentino Beauty and will front the campaign for its equally cool new Spike Valentino Buttery Matte lipstick line.

“Edgy, bold, unapologetically expressive. Valentino Beauty is thrilled to announce @charli_xcx as a new Valentino Beauty ambassador,” said the brand on Instagram.

British singer Charli XCX joins another Brit, actress Florence Pugh, as well as the Chinese actor Tan Jianci as ambassadors for the glamourous Italian fashion label’s beauty line, which has also just unveiled a collection of ‘his and her’ fine fragrances.

Chanel No 5 x Margot Robbie

Following the footsteps of Marilyn Monroe, Catherine Deneuve and another Australian actress Nicole Kidman, Margot Robbie will star in campaigns for the house’s signature No.5 perfume – taking over from French actress Marion Cotillard.

The Australian star said that she is honoured to join the “impressive lineage of women” who have been associated with Chanel No.5, “one of the most iconic fragrances in the world.”

L’Oréal Paris x Cara Delevingne

L'Oréal Paris recently announced that it was “proud to announce that Cara Delevingne is joining our family of incredible spokespeople for Women of Worth.”

The first campaign was for the brand’s Préférence hair colour and International general manager at L'Oréal Paris, Delphine Viguier-Hovasse, called the British supermodel and actress “multifaceted and multitalented.”

“Cara embodies our mission to empower women everywhere, no matter what challenges they face,” she said. “By embracing her strengths and desires as well as her vulnerabilities and challenges, she inspires us all to reach for our ambitions and believe that anything is possible. She is so worth it!"

Meanwhile, Delevingne said she was “thrilled to join the L’Oréal Paris family and the community of women that has been created by so many inspiring women before me.”

She noted that: “Beauty is a form of expression and empowerment, and I am thrilled to partner with L’Oréal Paris in their mission to inspire all people to reach their potential and feel confident.”

Tom Ford Beauty x Angelina Jolie

Tom Ford Beauty finally got a ‘brand face’ and when it did, it pulled out the big guns and partnered with Hollywood star and human rights activist Angelina Jolie.

In the new campaign, Jolie wears the brand’s new Runway Lip Color in 16 Scarlet Rouge beautifully in an image that conjures up memories of an iconic Hollywood of yesteryear.

On Instagram the Estée Lauder Companies-owned brand said: “Always iconic. Introducing Angelina Jolie for the new Tom Ford Runway Lip Color in a campaign that brings together two icons. An inveterate trailblazer, Jolie drives her personal narrative with strength, confidence and an uncompromising commitment to self-expression.”

Many industry experts agree that Jolie as the face of the brand is a great marketing move, as well as a strategic decision. The A-lister is known not only for her impressive acting career, as well as her humanitarian work, often aimed at helping other women.

Redken 5th Avenue x Sabrina Carpenter

Redken said that 25-year-old pop superstar Carpenter has long been a fan of the professional hair care brand and attributes her signature blonde colour exclusively to Redken's Shades EQ.

Indeed, the Espresso singer's bouncy blonde hair and perfect fringe bangs have been emulated by teenagers across the global.

This is Redken’s “biggest partnership to date”, as the brand is also officially sponsoring Carpenter’s upcoming US tour.

“Sabrina's unapologetic attitude, endless ambition and magnetic energy perfectly align with our core brand values,” explained Redken President, Severine Breton.

Nexxus x Lindsey Lohan

For its new campaign, "The Style Swap," the hair care brand partnered with Lohan, who draws inspiration from some of her most memorable characters, including the twins in The Parent Trap film, to achieve completely different looks and showcase the true versatility of the brand's Styling Line, which has 11 SKUs.

"I bring all the tips and tricks I've learned throughout my career into my everyday life, and often find myself using my favourite looks from the past for inspiration," shared Lohan.

"I like to think of this as a little love letter to my fans.”
