5 cosmetics packaging innovations to launch at Luxe Pack
We've rounded up some of the newest innovations that will be showcased at the world's biggest luxury packaging show...

Collapsible box collection: Rissmann

The rigid mono-material boxes have a luxurious finish, but are made from cardboard and FSC-certified paper.

The boxes are delivered flat and according to the packaging company, can “reduce carbon footprint without compromising luxury codes.”

“The goal is to reduce transport, storage volumes and costs of empty packaging, and minimise packaging with 2-in-1 models, while perfectly matching the brand's image in terms of finishing, appearance and unpacking experience,” it explained.  It also shared that the boxes are produced locally in each of its different markets, so they are more sustainable.

Refillable sun stick: Quadpack

Quadpack worked with French suncare brand Hei Poa to produce an aesthetically beautiful pack that minimised the amount of plastic and was easy to apply on the face.

The brand’s Product Manager Laura Emery recalled the search for the perfect stick: “We were looking for a sustainable pack for our new SPF50+ Sun Stick. Quadpack presented several solutions which inspired me. In the end, we were seduced by the Infinite Panstick, which brought together most of our criteria: refillable, recycled plastic, four-colour printing and an ideal diameter,” she explained.

The Stick Solaire Visage SPF50+ is 21.3mm in diameter, which Quadpack said is smaller than the market standard, and allows easy application to localised areas, such as the bridge of the nose, lips and ears.

To reduce plastic content and facilitate recycling, Hei Poa used 50% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic to be added to the mono-material PP pack. A refill is also available at a reduced cost to encourage refill habits.

Mascara innovation: Texen Beauty Partners

According to Texen Beauty Partners, the cosmetics industry has recently seen a marked increase in mascara launches, often accompanied by new concepts.

The company will unveil its Moon Collection at Luxe Pack, which comprises six multifunctional mascaras and is designed to offer a unique experience for lashes and brows.

The "reduce" and "reuse" aspects are at the heart of the collection. For example, the mascara eliminates the need to use cotton for makeup removal, to reduce the amount of waste generated.

"The choice of the name Moon was inspired by the different phases of the moon, which symbolise the different stages of the makeup and eye care routine,” said the company. “Just as the moon changes shape and appearance, the Moon Collection offers a range of mascaras for every moment of the day," it shared.

Each of the six mascaras are designed to meet specific needs in terms of morphology or desired results, whether to enhance lashes or structure brows.

The packs are also designed without ABS, POM or POK, thus reducing environmental impact. Plus, of the six packs feature 2-in-1 functionality, to help reduce waste.
