At Milan Fashion Week, it appeared that Prada Beauty may have taken some inspiration from the #coquette TikTok trend, which has been rapidly gathering steam and has racked up over 18 billion views and 1.2 million creations on the app.
From a fashion perspective, the trend involves people putting bows on different clothes. From a makeup perspective, the looks are glowy, ultra-feminine and designed to make the wearer appear more youthful. It’s a stark contrast to the recent Mob Wife look that has also been trending on TikTok.
Skin care-centric looks
At the Prada Fall-Winter 2024 womenswear show, held at the Deposito at Fondazione Prada, the models’ beauty looks – which were created with more focus on skin care and fewer colour cosmetics – were led by Lynsey Alexander, who is global makeup artist of Prada Beauty.
According to Prada, to create the looks, Alexander first prepped the models’ skin with the Prada Skincare range. She used Augmented Skin The Essence as the first step, followed by Prada Augmented Skin The Serum – a cream-to-water serum to even and refine the skin tone – before applying Prada Augmented Skin The Cream and then Prada Reveal Foundation.
As the final step and to add dimension, Alexander used The Serum again across the cheekbones to create a glossy veil, and a tiny amount of Monochrome Lipcolour in nude hues, along with Prada Balm for “a diffused glow on the cheeks.”
For the eyebrows, Alexander brushed Prada Reveal Foundation onto brows for “a gentle and minimal arc and centering focus to the eyes” and then lightened the brows with a nude eyeshadow.
Meanwhile, the lips were also given a minimalist and youthful look: with a slick of Prada Balm and its P159 Nudo and B13 Marron lip sticks to curate a hydrating, soft-matte finish for “a uniform, diffused lip that perfectly complements a modern nude face.”
