Schwan Cosmetics hones in on agility and sustainability for customised beauty

Schwan Cosmetics has introduced its “Schwan Cosmetics re-invented” concept – a large offer of new and tailored services paired with a new corporate design.

The cosmetics packaging and pencils supplier says that with this move, it is branching out into new business areas. It pledges to “become the most sustainable innovator in colour cosmetics.”

At the recent Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna show, Schwan was one of the packaging players on show, dedicating their presence to promoting their new image and focus on sustainability and customised beauty.

Dagmar Chlosta, Chief Market Officer Schwan Cosmetics (pictured), explained: “Schwan Cosmetics re-invented” means that we have undergone a transformation: we restructured our organization to be able to laser focus on customer centricity and product leadership.

“We now offer true end-to-end solutions based on speed-to-market, agility, individualization and innovation beyond product.

“By combining innovation and sustainability we offer a unique ecosystem to our customers.”

Its offering is based on two key areas: 3D-printing and sustainable wood offerings.

3D printing: spotlight

With what it calls ‘exclusive 3D-printed packaging solutions’, Schwan Cosmetics introduces an industry first, providing a unique decorative process for customization.

The company offers brands of all sizes a fast prototyping with unlimited shapes and geometry forms as well as a short time-to-market.

Another advantage, the company suggests, comes by producing less waste than other production methods, the 3D-printing business area further fits into the sustainable approach of the company.

Sustainable wood cosmetics solutions: spotlight

As the inventor of the wooden cosmetics pencil in 1927, Schwan Cosmetics is always striving to offer the next level of innovation in this sector.

Last year, the company launched PERFECT, a blend of sustainability and performance in one pencil for all application areas.

In Bologna, Schwan Cosmetics announced it is expanding the wooden portfolio with a key emphasis on design to ensure the “instagrammability” of the products.

The “Shifted Lead Next Generation” and the “Jumbo Chopstick Oriental” pencils combine sustainability, performance and design in one product, it says.
