BASF wins two innovation BSB awards
The second place for the German consulting agency BSB Innovation Prize 2019 went to Eurperlan OP White for the ‘Functional and Recipients’ sub category of ‘Cosmetics’.
The awards have been run by BSB since 2003 and as well as the cosmetics category, there are also categories for ‘Natural Products’ and ‘Concepts’.
Eperlan OP White
The Eperlan OP White ingredient is a wax-based which the BASF team claims to be a readily biodegradable and cold processable opacifier dispersion with a superior white appearance for surfactant formulations.
The BASF team developed this ingredient in response to demand from its customers for eco-friendly hair and skin care cleansing solutions with unique properties.
The new ingredient also forms part of a comprehensive portfolio of pearlizing wax dispersions, and it can be used as an alternative to synthetic polymeric opacifiers.
Face mask concept
The BASF development team also scooped third prize in the concepts category for its highly sophisticated face mask, which taps into a number of the biggest trends in the industry.
The face mask provides gentle skin renewal by tapping into anti-pollution effects by using ingredients such as clay and natural retinol alternatives.
The BASF team developed the face mask team in response to the need to develop effective products with extremely high speed in what is now the fastest growing area of the skin care category.
