Fashionbeans.com, an online resource for men’s style, has revealed the winners of its debut Grooming Awards, identifying the leading personal care and male grooming products.

The UK-based website, which claims to have more than 2.4 million unique visitors a month, launched the awards with 20 different categories, including fragrance, shaving, skin care, deodorant, sun care, luxury and grooming products.

The top awards for each of the 20 different categories were given to the brands receiving the most votes from Fashionbeans readers in an area of the beauty and personal care industry that has been witnessing leading growth in recent years.

Winner of brand of the year

Perhaps the most prestigious award – Brand 0f The Year – went to subscription shaving company Harry’s, which only launched in the UK in June of this year.

Harry’s has already carved out a significant slice of the UK grooming and shaving category, thanks to a concerted push to drive online sales, helped by listings with the likes of Mr. Porter.

Elsewhere the organisers reported that Clinique For Men took home Best Cleansing Product for its Anti-Fatigue Exfoliating Powder, along with Nivea which won Best Shaving Product for its Anti-Irritation Stick, and David Beckham’s House 99 brand picked up Best Secret Weapon with its Brighter Eye Balm.

Men’s grooming is an area to watch

The interest that the awards has generated not only underlines the huge interest that men are showing in the category, but also the expansive new product offerings and innovation in the sector is demonstrating how fast paced the area has become.

“What’s clear from this year’s stellar batch of winners is that there’s a growing demand for tailored products that offer targeted solutions,” said FashionBeans deputy editor Luke Todd.

“Men already make up more than a quarter of total toiletry sales, and with increasing numbers reading up on grooming content, brands across the board are having to step up their game to keep pace with rapidly evolving consumer demands."
