The global specialty chemical and ingredient distributor launched a new site this week, serving the industry overseas—in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

“This website is the latest expansion of Univar's global technical support offering focused on the beauty and personal care market and is further evidence of our commitment to be an inclusive solution for our customers and suppliers,” explains Arnita Wofford, Univar's head of marketing for Europe, Middle East and Africa, in a company media release.

Online reality

Business-to-business companies are sharing and transacting online; it’s a reality of the digital era and one that Univar took in to consideration while developing the new site.

“Recent market research shows that the majority of a customer's buying journey now takes place in a digital environment,” notes the media release. “And Univar is well positioned to support customers as they search for valuable information, select products, source their purchases, and self-serve to manage their business online.”

“The launch of our new beauty and personal care showcase website creates a new space for inspiration where beauty and personal care experts from around the world can visit and receive up-to-date information about the trends and innovations that are impacting our market,” Arnita Wofford, Univar's head of marketing for Europe, Middle East and Africa,

The beautypersonalcare.univareurope.com site is meant to make it easy for the company’s customers to key in on trends and discover solutions. “Features of the new website include a refreshed design with improved functionality and enriched content, offering a user-friendly experience to visitors,” according to the release.

Natural progression

Many ingredient suppliers and distributors, Univar included, are adding naturals to their portfolios. In May Univar acquired natural ingredient company Earthoil to bolster its naturals business, as Cosmetics Design reported.

“Earthoil presents us with an attractive opportunity to add a natural ingredient product portfolio that we can leverage across our growing customer base in the European and global natural beauty and personal care market,” commented Nick Powell, president of EMEA at Univar, at the time.

And the company’s new site is leveraging that portfolio too. “New content includes Univar's Earthoil product line that consists of pure, organic, fair-trade essential, and cold-pressed vegetable seed oils used in the naturals, organic beauty, and personal care markets,” notes this week’s media release.
