Porex takes South Korean- inspired cushion compact technology a step further

Innovative cushion compact technology gets an upgrade with Porex’s new fibre release.

Following the rise in cushion-based products in Korea, sintered porous plastic product developer and manufacturer, Porex, is taking cushion technology a step further.

The company is recognised for its materials science expertise and proprietary designs, and also focuses on filtration, venting, wicking, diffusing, applying and absorption functions in applications for the cosmetics industry.

A technology first

Porex’s recently released fibre cushion transforms the customer experience by unveiling a portable, on the go make up item. This new development will feature in liquid-based formulations like foundation or concealer packaged for pocket-sized use.

Focusing on both innovation, high-quality and commitment to technological resources, Porex has obtained an officially registered trademark with the US Patent and Trademark Office for its fibre cushion.

Making beauty portable

The recently patent-pending Porex is a gradient fibre reservoir that uses technology to utilise capillary action to pull liquid formula from pads to the surface that is measured, consistent manner.

Consumers will have access to a touch-driven response that enables the cushion to disperse a uniform amount of product on every compression.

It addresses product dosage that overcomes hurdles typically associated with standard foam cushions used in existing make up products.

Maximising products

Promoting flexibility and product performance, the fibre cushion strives to prevent leakage and product waste and eliminates problems when items do not fully dispense, dispense inconsistently, or do not to dispense at all.

These foam pads offer a visually appealing look that can be personalised to the specific requirements of any brand. Its fibre construction is chemically stable and has been designed strong and durable enough for a formula range including solvents, oils and water-based products.

Target market

"On-the-go cosmetics products are experiencing rapid growth to meet fast-paced consumer lifestyles, but the standard cushion compacts on the market do not live up to the expectations of makeup users or cosmetics brands,” emphasised Rusty Martin, Global Strategic Marketing Director Consumer and Industrial Segments, Porex.

“The new Porex Fibre Cushion ensures that brands can offer portable versions of their liquid-based products while upholding the performance their customers have grown to expect. This technology changes the face of makeup application.”
