International fragrance manufacturer expands R&D facilities in Spain

Iberchem has announced that it is investing in its innovation capabilities in the construction of new R&D facilities in Spain.

The work involves the expansion of its facilities at its head office in Murcia, southern Spain.

It will feature ‘state-of-the-art installations’, according to the company, with the new centre set to total 3000 square meters across three floors.

According to the company, the new facility has been specifically designed to broaden and enhance the company’s R&D operations.

It will accommodate nearly 100 specialists, including perfumers, lab technicians, evaluators and application specialists. The center is expected to be completed by fall 2018.

Innovation push

The announcement comes shortly after the company’s recent hiring of a New Technologies Director, both of which Iberchem says reflect its promise to offer innovative fragrance solutions to its customers, ahead of the market’s requirements.

This investment was key to maintaining the company’s enviable growth over the past decade, and represents a pillar in fulfilling the objectives of our ongoing strategic plan,” says Ramón Fernández, CEO of Iberchem.

It demonstrates our commitment to anticipating the needs of our clients, providing them with the best service possible.”

Cristina Castellanos, Technical Director of Iberchem, predicts that the new facility will allow efficiency and innovation to drive the company’s progress moving forward.

Its design is tailored to maximizing the collaboration work between the different R&D divisions of the company, reinforcing our current speed-to-market offer to our customers. From the perfumer’s offices to the testing cabins, the function of each room has been carefully considered in order to improve the flow of projects as well as the comfort of our personnel,” she explains.

“It will help our employees to work more efficiently, more rapidly and allow our clients to benefit from even more personalized assistance.”
