Acqua Colonia launches fragrances based on tea and coffee

Germany-based fragrance brand Acqua Colonia has this year added to its special edition scents with fragrances evocative of cooler Autumn weather that are based on exotic tea and coffee scents.

According to the fragrance house, the 4711 Acqua Colonia Green Tea & Bergamot and Coffee Bean & Vetyver fragrances that evoke memories associated with reflective moments and a sense of wellbeing.

This launch builds on previous special editions which have also been released at the beginning of Autumn to mark the change of the seasons, as well as the ramp up the Christmas period, when fragrance sales traditionally spike.

Coffee and tea

The fragrances are both based on over 200 years of eau de cologne fragrances, but also combine a much more modern theme, which is the incorporation of food and drink based ingredients that evoke connections with everyday life.

However, the two fragrances have been designed to evoke very different sense, with the Green Tea and Bergamot targeting soothing and relaxing senses, while the Coffee Bean and Vetyver is all about stimulating the senses.

Both fragrances aim to be uplifting for the cooler Autumn and Winter months, when many people seek out little pep ups to get them through the shorter days that leave many individuals feeling drained of energy.

The ingredients

The green tea leaves used in the tea fragrance have been selected to have a  positive effect on mental balance, provide inspiration and lend the Eau de Cologne its soft, clear note, the formulation team says, while the bergamot lends a tangy scent and is a mood enhancer.

Meanwhile, the roasted coffee beans lend enhanced energy with a stimulating rich aroma, while the vetyver was selected to harmonise with the coffee to bring a regenerative effect.

The raw materials used to make these fragrances are also reflected in the packaging design, which incorporates botanical and natural inspired elements in the outer packaging, while the flacons are embellished with a frosted touch to emphasise the cooler seasons.
