The partnership will involve the production of two innovative UV filters, the company states, Parsol Max and Parsol Shield.
It will also facilitate a competitive supply chain for the company’s UV filters, and set it up for expansion in line with rising demand, it says.
Nanjing Cosmos Chemical Co., Ltd, is a leading technology-based manufacturer and distributor in the field of fine and specialty chemicals, and it brings its UV manufacturing capabilities to the partnership.
The two filters will be manufactured on Cosmos’s new Sinobest construction site (opening pictured above). The Sinobest production site is ICH Q7 GMP-guideline compliant and already has sufficient capacity to cover growing global market demands for the products, the companies explain.
Technical collaboration: new frontiers
The companies have both spoken of their hope that the new partnership will allow them to tap into future advancements in the field of UV filters.
Bill Zhou, Chairman of Nanjing Cosmos Chemical Co., Ltd, said: “We are pleased to be a strategic technology partner with DSM. Our two companies share the same vision of providing our customers with leading technology and product advancements to satisfy their every need, and we look forward to expanding the collaboration in the future.”
DSM spoke particularly of the power of partnerships, and its ambition to remain a leader in the field of UV filters.
“Today’s announcement represents another solid step on our journey to strengthen our foundations in the sun care sector,” said Wilfrid Gambade, President DSM Personal Care.
“At DSM we are committed to substantial investment of time and money in this segment, and the partnership with Cosmos will help us deliver on our ambition to revolutionize the sun segment, making sun protection more appealing for consumers. It will also reinforce our already strong strategy of customer intimacy, which we want to take to a new level in our Sun Care partnerships.”
