ECHA’s REACH 2018 spring school happening now
In this intensive ‘spring school’ from 15 to 19 May, each day sees registrants invited to ask questions directly to ECHA experts, linked to the topic of that day’s webinar.
The whole REACH registration process will be covered, the European body states, including a new webinar on getting your chemical safety assessment done. The webinars can be accessed here.
The topics of the week are as follows:
- Monday 15 May (already completed): Know your portfolio and find your co-registrants
- Tuesday 16 May, 11:00 – 15:30 EEST (GMT +3): Get organised with co-registrants and assess hazards and risks (includes on update on what to do after pre-registration ends)
- Wednesday 17 May, 11:00 – 13:30 EEST (GMT +3): Getting your chemical safety assessment done (new)
- Thursday 18 May, 11:00 – 13:30 EEST (GMT +3): Prepare your registration as a IUCLID dossier (includes on update on the ECHA Cloud Services)
- Friday 19 May, 11:00 – 15:00 EEST (GMT +3): Submit your registration dossier and extended Q&A on all aspects of REACH registration
Who’s affected by the deadline?
If you manufacture chemical substances or import them from outside the EU above one tonne per year, you may have registration obligations under REACH, according to the ECHA.
Additionally, if you manufacture or import a product (mixture, article), it may contain substances that need to be registered individually.
Further to this, if you have pre-registered substances that you manufacture or import from outside of the EU above one tonne but not more than 100 tonnes per year and have not already registered them, the REACH registration deadline of 31 May 2018 applies to you.
About the webinars
The ECHA REACH 2018 webinars are information sessions hosted online, made up of presentations, videos and other interactive features such as Q&As and desktop sharing. The body notes that up to 1000 participants can remotely join a webinar.
According to the ECHA, each webinar will be recorded and later published on the ECHA website.
