Lipoid Kosmetik gets in on anti-pollution trend

Expect to see a rash of new product launches targeting the very hot anti-pollution trend at next month’s in-cosmetics Global event in London, and Lipoid Kosmetik is one of them.

The Switzerland-based ingredients provider will be unveiling its latest launch, Herbashield URB, which is being marketed as a natural solution to help fight the adverse effects of pollution on the skin.

The company specialise in botanical-based ingredient solutions, and will be showcasing a number of its latest products to hit the market at its stand M10, from April 4th to 6th at the ExCel exhibition space in London’s Docklands.

COSMOS-approved botanical active

Herbashield URB is a COSMOS-approved botanicals active, which the company says have been proven to provide pronounced anti-pollution and efficient detoxification activity.

In particular, the ingredient has been developed for consumers who are tackling the issue of urban pollution, causing chemical and other environmental aggressions to damage the skin, often giving way to related skin problems.

Researchers have noted that pollution can give way to problems such as acne, premature ageing, and skin rashes such as eczema and psoriasis.Specifically, the ingredient is said to provide a marked reduction of pollution-induced skin damage, efficient detoxification of air pollutants and an enhanced protection against environmental stress.

Horsetail, watercress and nettle extracts

So what are the botanicals that give the ingredient these properties?

The development team at Lipoid Kosmetik turned to three principle components: watercress, nettle and horsetail extracts.

According to the company, the active substances of the plants are embedded in a unique matrix of phospholipids and maltodextrin, resulting in an easy-to-use powder formula combining the benefits of botanical extracts and phospholipids.
