This year the programme will include the regular workshops, technical seminars and marketing trends presentations, together with the Formulation Lab demonstrations, a succession of live demonstrations and a new addition, Sustainability Corner.
In all there are more than 150 different programmes, presentations and conferences that you can attend over the three days, meaning that planning ahead which ones are must attend is crucial to make the most of this very busy event.

The workshop programme
The workshop programme spans over the three days of the event, and includes a total of 11 different presentations all focusing on very different topics.
On day one presentations will cover sustainability, tackling the anti-pollution trend, EU regulation updates and the low-down on the latest in hair care science.
On day two there will be a workshop on the changing regulatory landscape in Europe, moderated by CONSUBAT, separate workshops on both natural and anti-ageing skin care, together with a panel discussion on toxicology.
Day three will include a panel discussion on choosing the right raw materials, a workshop focusing on how to formulate with microbiome and a global update on technical issues relating the green cosmetics market, given by Organic Monitor.
Technical seminars
An incredibly busy programme of technical seminars will include around 70 presentations, demonstrating new ingredients, technologies and scientific insights related to formulation.
On the first day, highlights will include presentations on natural alternatives to synthetic surfactants by Stephenson Personal Care, the use of sustainable plant-derived ingredients by Cargill Personal Care and a look at skin care treatments in Asia, presented by Sabinsa.
Day two will include presentations on functional sunscreens by Kalichem, creating light skin care formulations by AkzoNobel, while on day three presentations will focus on anti-pollution, by Indena and HIP and PIT emulsion technologies, given by Belinda Carli.
Marketing Trends
Some of the most popular presentations at in-cosmetics are those focusing on what is hot in this fast-moving industry and this year the marketing trends segment will feature 22 presentations covering a wide variety of global topics.
On day one, the programme will start with a presentation by Euromonitor about how the market landscape may change given the current political and economic volatility as well as a panel discussion headed up by the CTPA about what Brexit may mean to the industry.
Day two highlights will include a global trends presentation by Mintel and a sustainability roundtable headed up by Organic Monitor, while day three will include a presentation about targeting millennial consumers by GlobalData and a look at the Halal beauty market by Butterfly London.
Formulation Lab
The three day programme will target the latest technologies and ingredients available to formulation professionals, but has also continued to attract a wider audience of industry non-lab professionals who are curious to know more about what goes on behind the scenes.
The three-day programme highlights will include a day one presentation about the multifunctional benefits of emulsifiers, by Lonza, a day two presentation focusing on sensorial effects by Evonik and a day three presentation about rheology modification of oil systems by the NRC Group.
Live Demonstrations and Sustainability Corner
New this year is Sustainability Corner, which as the name suggests, focusing on industry solutions that minimise the impact to the environment.
A full three-day programme will include presentations from Beiersdorf about the inclusion of sustainability in its innovation, plastic-free cosmetics by CFF and sustainability and ingredient integrity, by Croda.
The Live Demonstrations will include a spotlight on Korean innovation at the Mintel Innovation Zone, creating sulphur-free formulations by Innospec and a one-step approach to multi-sensorial formulations by Chemyunion.
