The company designs, formulates and manufactures made-in-France, high-end skin care and makeup products as a contract manufacturer for beauty brands.
Strand Cosmetics was founded in New York in 1926, and subsequently opened a European subsidiary, that was eventually acquired by the Raguin, Bouvier and Salin families and operated in Lyon.
In the opening of its new office, it has now returned to its place of origin, in a strategic move by which it intends to build ‘close and trustful’ relationships with American cosmetics players.
Building on a presence
Strand Cosmetics notes that it has already fostered business relationships with various US companies, and is looking to strengthen theses and build on its operations in the market.
“Some of them [American Cosmetics Brands] already entrusted Strand Cosmetics Europe,” the company said in a statement on the US opening.
“They demonstrate their true interest in the formulation know-how of Strand Cosmetics Europe, that is well-known in Europe and Asia. They are also receptive to its ability to offer sensory textures, effective, original and innovative ingredients with high added value.”
Stand is looking to use its R&D clout to woo the US market, the company states, noting that its 30-strong R&D team has a good knowledge of the US regulatory framework, and that the company is accredited to manufacture OTC products there.
New leadership
Jacques de Prémaire has been appointed by the company as junior business manager, taking on the role of leading US business development from New York alongside Nathalie Dessirier, the company’s senior business manager.
