Shiseido Group becomes EMEA partner of Women’s Forum Global Meeting

Shiseido is making strides to strengthen further its European presence, becoming the new partner of the Women’s Forum Global Meeting.

The Shiseido Group EMEA division of the Japan-based beauty giant will be the partner of the 12th edition of the global meeting, which sees 1300 international participants gather to discuss topics around the economy and society.

CEOs, authors, artists, research workers, journalists, political women: every year, a brilliant distribution of brainstorming shapes the outlines of a world whose growth depends on sensitive and united values,” Shiseido says of the forum.

Dedicated to beauty, engaging women

Shiseido states that the partnership helps to offer the forum longevity, and that the company is keen to align itself with the event due to its commitment to the promotion of women in business.

“Partnering on a long-term basis with an institution engaged for women, whose growing influence puts the Women’s Forum for the Economy & Society among the most influent forums in the world, is meaningful for a Group dedicated to beauty which, in its original homeland, is a referent in terms of women elevation inside the company,” the company states.

The partnership follows a similar recent move by the beauty player, when it acted as sponsor to the Women’s Forum for Economy & Society and Génération Femmes d’Influence.

This event, headquartered in Paris, has been the world's leading platform for women's views and voices on major social and economic issues, explains Shiseido. Génération Femmes d’Influence is a networking club for business women.

Shiseido Group EMEA has said its efforts in this area are aimed at ‘confirming its commitment on the women cause’.

Promoting women in leadership

Louis Desazars, President and CEO Shiseido Group EMEA, states that he has made promotion of women to leadership positions within Shiseido a priority.

“Inside a company mostly feminine with 79% of women, I’ve made the choice of a representative and equal executive board, and surrounded myself by as many women as men in those high leading functions.

“For instance I have, for that matter, chosen Nathalie Helloin Kamel to lead the general management of the Fragrance Center of Excellence that is to make of Shiseido Group a major prestige player in the worldwide perfume sector.”
