Albéa’s Slovakia arm officially opens

Albéa, a global packaging player, has entered its 15th country, with its recently acquired facility in Slovakia now an official part of the company.

Albéa states that it offers the world’s largest range of beauty and personal care packaging - with leadership positions in plastic & laminate tubes, mascaras, lipsticks, samplers and foam pumps; and recognized expertise in fragrance & skincare dispensing pumps, fragrance & lotion caps, compacts, lipgloss, promotional items and accessories.

It has entered Slovakia with the acquisition of the new facility in order to further strengthen its global reach, the company says.

The new facility

The new facility in Levice, Slovakia, is dedicated to the production of laminate tubes, and joins similar Albéa facilities across Europe: in France, Germany, the UK, Poland and Russia.

The factory was acquired from Scandolara Tub-est SRO. It serves global and regional brands across Europe, according to Albéa, primarily in the oral care market.

Its 130 people achieved sales of circa €20 million in 2015, Albéa notes, and the plant reportedly holds multiple ISO certifications.

“The acquisition will allow Albéa to leverage Levice’s recognized customer service, flexibility and responsiveness, while bringing in investment for technical leadership and innovation,” the company explained in a statement.

“The combined Tube business  will offer customers an extended industrial footprint, providing increasingly global reach and local presence."

A key asset for growth

François Luscan, CEO & President, spoke on the introduction of Levice as Albéa’s 38th industrial facility.

We want to support our customers in all their ambitions – and in the Tube business, this means providing geographical reach, innovation, operating excellence, robustness and agility,” he said.

Levice is a key asset in this growth strategy. I am delighted to welcome the Levice team to Albéa. Together we are much stronger.”
