Albéa acquires Scandolara Tub-Est to strengthen packaging supply in Europe

Albéa, a leading packaging supplier for the beauty and personal care industry, has announced the acquisition of Scandolara Tub-Est s.r.o., a laminates tubes company in Slovakia.

With Scandolara Tub-Est, Albéa further strengthens its tube offering, as the company is currently a key player serving global and regional brands across Europe, primarily in oral care.

The acquisition will see Albéa take over the smaller company’s production facility in Levice, Slovakia, where Scadolara Tub-Est generated c. EUR 20 million last year.

This acquisition consolidates Albéa’s regional leadership in tubes, extending its industrial footprint and capacity to serve customers across Europe where it now boasts six Laminate Tube facilities – in France, Germany, UK, Poland, Russia and now Slovakia,” the company explained in a statement.

Global reach and local presence

Albéa is a packaging player that supplies an array of cosmetics and personal care items, including in plastic & laminate tubes, mascaras, lipsticks, samplers and foam pumps; and recognized expertise in fragrance & skincare dispensing pumps, fragrance & lotion caps, compacts, lip gloss, promotional items and accessories.

The company enjoys a global reach: its 2015 sales totalled USD 1.4 billion and it operates facilities in Europe, Asia and Americas, with this latest acquisition, according to the company, coming as part of its strategy of providing a ‘local presence with global reach’.

Together, Albéa and Levice will offer a unique combination of global reach and local presence, market-valued product and process innovation, as well as technical expertise, operating performance and agility,” explains François Luscan, Albéa’s President & CEO.

The company has a presence in 60 countries globally, with the Slovakia acquisition looking set to strengthen its presence and offering in Eastern Europe.
