OPI moves into the retail business with first UK flagship

OPI Nails has ventured into the retail space with its first flagship spa in the UK where it will offer luxury manicures and pedicures as well as a fully stocked range of its nail care products for consumers to take home.

OPI is an established brand in the nail care category, established in the US in 1981 and available in more than 100 countries.

The brand teamed up with the Lifehouse Spa in Essex where guests will have access to the very latest OPI services in a bespoke spa area for pampering along with a chilled glass of Prosecco.

Luxury and therapy

The spa is surrounded by beautiful gardens and trained therapists specialise in treatments for those recovering from stress, burnout and cancer.

“This exciting new partnership brings together OPI philosophy for luxurious and therapeutic hand, nail and feet services within the pampering environment of Lifehouse Spa,” says Lisa Bennett, commercial director at OPI.

In 2014, fragrance & cosmetics provider, Coty acquired Lena White, the distributor of its OPI branded nail care products in the UK.

Coty increases presence overseas

At the time, US-based Coty was looking to expand beyond its mainstay fragrance business as well as increasing its’ presence overseas.

The UK is currently the second largest market for the OPI brand worldwide and Coty has been working to also expand on OPI’s footprint since the acquisition.

“The acquisition will serve to accelerate the development of the brand’s distribution in both retail and professional channels by leveraging the company’s existing management expertise,” Coty reps had said at the time of the takeover.
