The partnership is in place from the start of the year and builds on previous collaborations in Russia, Poland, CEE and Balkans, for Personal Care.
The relationship will be managed by the Azelis Turkey commercial team and the customers will be supplied using both Polish and Romanian warehouses as well as Gattefossé’s Istanbul facility.
“We are committed to a long-term partnership with Gattefossé and are delighted to further strengthen our relationship by adding the Turkish market to our agreement,” says Tony Craske, International Business Director Azelis Personal Care.
The agreement already includes the French firm’s specialty actives and functional ingredients, such as emulsifiers and emollients with sensorial benefits for the personal care industry, and expands it into an exciting region which has been a key focus for cosmetics in recent years.
“Azelis’ understanding of our cosmetics business, their technical expertise and their highly motivated team in Turkey have made them the natural choice to cover this exciting and fast growing country,” says Eduardo de Purgly, Group Director, Marketing and Business Development, Gattefossé.
Eymen Baltasi, Commercial Director Life Sciences, Azelis Turkey, adds “the Gattefossé product range of natural performing actives and functional excipients is a valuable addition to our portfolio. We are excited about the opportunities these high quality ingredients present, and look forward to presenting them to our customers.”
Turkey talking point
This deal builds on Azelis Turkey’s recent activities, having signed a similar deal with BRB Silicones this month too.
The deal with the Dutch ingredient supplier sees Azelis also extend its partnership in Turkey for the Personal Care market, offering the specialty and core silicones to the industry.
Whereas the Gattefossé deal has already come into effect, the BRB deal comes into play from February 1, 2016, with both firms equally happy to get things underway.
