in-cosmetics launches new formulation and sensorial features at 2016 show

As the industry focuses on the sensorial properties of cosmetics and dealing with formulation struggles, the in-cosmetics event has responded by announcing it will launch a Formulation Lab and Sensory Bar at the Paris show next year.

The Sensory Bar is a brand new feature for the event and will house a ‘try-out’ area where visitors can test innovative textures and new sensations.

Formulations created using new fragrances, tastes and state-of-the-art pigments will be displayed, aiming to capture the imagination of manufacturers and facilitate the development of new relationships and consumer products.

The Formulation Lab is a new feature for the European event, following a successful launch at in-cosmetics Asia in Bangkok last month, and gives visitors the opportunity to speak with experts in a purpose-built laboratory on the show floor.

Those interested in attending sessions at the Formulation Lab will need to have their suitability checked, as only finished product manufacturers are eligible to take part.

“We are looking forward to in-cosmetics in Paris 2016 with the launch of the highly popular Formulation Lab and the brand new Sensory Bar at the global show,” says Cathy Laporte, Event Director.

“We hope the new features and formulations to be showcased at the Paris show next year will kick start some fantastic new product innovation and inspire our visitors.”

Sensorial aspects and textures

Last month the event organisers also put on a Formulation Summit which focused on textures and the sensorial aspects of functional ingredients.

Following the interest shown in these areas by finished product manufacturers, the organisers decided to launch the new interactive features at in-cosmetics in Paris to help with advances in product formulation.

The free-to-attend show takes place at the Paris Expo, at Porte de Versailles, from 12-14 April 2016.
