The apple-flavoured supplement includes a blend of natural ingredients known for their anti-ageing properties like marine collagen, resveratrol, aloe vera and vitamin C.
According to founder Jules Birch, each 'Help: Beautify Skin' sachet is free from artificial colours and flavours, is suitable for vegetarians and coeliacs and is the first of its kind to have been developed and launched in the UK.
Birch told CosmeticsDesign-Europe.com that ready to eat jelly supplements for the skin are very popular in this type of format in Japan and China but had yet to be introduced to this market.
"It's quite challenging to deliver the optimum viscosity of the jelly without compromising both the ingredients which deliver the skin benefits or the taste," the brand's boss told this publication.
"It's taken around two years to develop, which for my company is an enormously long time," she adds.
Beauty from within
Other supplements in the Works with Water Nutraceuticals range includes; 'Help: clear skin', and 'Help: clear skin MEN', which were repackaged and reformulated in 2014 in an effort to drive sales and brand awareness.
The products now contain PravENAC, which is rich in Lactoferrin, a bioactive milk protein which Birch says has been proven to reduce acne by reducing the sebum as well as inflammation and repairing damaged skin cells.
Both feature new packaging formats with clearer nutritional information, making it easy for customers to understand how the products will benefit their complexion.
Asian influence in the UK
According to Jules, the company was surprised by the increasing volume of orders from Chinese students living in the UK in recent years and upped its game to cater to that demographic whilst also looking into expanding into Asia on the back of this success in 2014.
Birch also signed an exclusive export agreement last year with Hong Kong-based 'Breakthrough Frontiers Enterprise', who specialise in bringing European nutraceutical products to the Asian market.
The range was launched in China, Hong Kong, The Philippines and Macau.
“This [demand] led us to explore opportunities with distributors in Asia and although it took over 18 months research to secure the right export partner. It's an exciting milestone for our business,” the founder concludes.
