CosmeticsDesign-Europe.com met up with Trade Relations Manager Emma Reinhold at the in-cosmetics event in Barcelona, and she explained that what were once criticisms thrown at organic products are now a thing of the past.
“With organic you have to be clever and be innovative, and we are now seeing more organic products that work just as well, passing clinical tests,” she says.
Emma acknowledges that the industry has sometimes been guilty of greenwashing and the term ‘green’ can be overused , but that this means that organic standards and certification are more important as they make sure products back up and qualify their claims.
“With no legislation or legal definition in place at the moment for organic and natural this leaves the market open to interpretation,” she adds. “And this can be misleading to the consumer.”
