Cosmoprof Bologna announces record figures for 2015 show

The doors of the Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2015 show have closed and the organisers have announced that the show experienced record numbers, exceeding all expectations of visitors.

A post-show report revealed that 248,000 visitors attended the event, a 20% increase on last year, and among them 79,000 came from abroad (up 30% compared to 2014).

The show boasted 2,493 exhibitors, of which 70% came from abroad, which show organisers say highlights the international appeal and may show signs that the market in Italy is in recovery.

More than 500 buyers attended the event from 51 countries, who were involved in 2,185 scheduled meetings with exhibitors of Cosmoprof and Cosmopack.

Success

"The enormous success of Cosmoprof which brought to Italy and Bologna the global industry of cosmetics and beauty from all over the world, is a truly exceptional event,” says Duccio Campagnoli, President of BolognaFiere.

The event had 27 Country Pavilions; among them the US, the French and the Polish ones were visited by their Consuls in Italy.

“The international platform, which includes Las Vegas and Hong Kong, will be enriched in September by Cosmopack New York, an unstoppable expansion of Cosmoprof in the world,” continues Campagnoli.

“Competitiveness in foreign markets represents an opportunity for growth which has become increasingly indispensable for Italian companies in the cosmetics sector.”

Cosmoprof also saw its link with Expo 2015, the World’s Fair next held in Milan, formalised, with an Expo Pavilion, showing the trends and putting on dedicated workshops to the event.

Recovery

President of Cosmetica Italia, the Italian trade association, Fabio Rossello was also present at the event and praise its dynamism and the quality of industry contacts it attracted.

“The large participation of our companies testifies, also thanks to the combination with Cosmopack, the value of an event which is capable of giving space to the entire cosmetics industry, which has reached an economic value of about €13.5 billion,” he says.

“From cosmetic ingredients to machinery for the production process, from packaging to the finished product, the excellence of the cosmetic world found full expression during the event in Bologna.”

Cosmopack, the dedicated packaging event that runs parallel to the show, saw 420 exhibitors from 33 countries, and has been labelled another ‘success’.
