The multifunctional colour cosmetics category is one of the most rapid and fast-paced areas of the industry right now. As consumers continue to perceive themselves as time poor, 40% of global consumers agree that they rely heavily on time saving goods and services.
This sentiment is being characterized within the make-up space by the exponential growth of multifunctional products and while having originated within face make-up streams, is now spreading to segments like the nail make-up space.
There has been considerable cross-category innovation over the past few years between skin care and facial make-up.
Multifunctional moving beyond skin care...
This across categories is creating a high potential innovation environment for brands within the personal care space as every brand, no matter what their category has the opportunity to capitalize on the interest surrounding multi-functional products.
On March 4th, Cosmetics Design will direct the limelight on the category in the form of an online event where world leading experts will discuss the challenges and explore the innovations the segment has to offer.
The panel will include myself, Michelle Yeomans, as the moderator, and I will be asking the must-know questions about this segment to Carl Geffken, a leading expert on regulation, Jamie Mills, trends expert from Datamonitor Consumer and premium consultant, Imogen Matthews.
