One week to go! What to look forward to at Luxe Pack

Packaging players in the beauty industry are gearing up for the annual Luxe Pack convention, due to take place next week in Monaco: here, Cosmetics Design runs you through the highlights.

As technological advances continue to propel the industry forward, personal care packaging is no exception, and ‘smart packaging’ is a key theme of this year’s event.

Innovations such as new surface decors, antibacterial film packaging customisation, and communication technologies will be pulled into the spotlight as part of this focus, with workshops and presentations honing in on these and other developments.

New event: formulation focus

Alongside the focus on tech, a new feature which highlights the latest developments and upcoming trends in packaging formulation will also be launched during the event, dubbed ‘Luxe Formation’.

The new exhibition space will play host to workshops, conferences and dedicated roundtables which aim to address technical and regulatory questions, and topics linked to innovation.

"At a time when the packaging/content correlation is increasingly strong and increasingly strategic, the creation of this new space at the world trade fair for creative packaging seemed vital to us,” Nathalie Grosdidier, Managing Director of Luxe Pack Monaco, has explained.

Organisers state that the space will offer “an exclusive platform” for professionals in the businesses of standard or customised formulation, packaging, filling, full service, private label brands and all associated services.

Other highlights

Designer Patrick Jouin will be welcomed as special guest at the event, and is set to give a presentation on why luxury is about sensation, before wrapping up the first day with a 4:15pm round table about responsible purchasing and its benefits.

Other key highlights include a presentation entitled '3D Print for the packaging industry: Assets and stakes', and a talk by market researcher Euromonitor on the outlook for the global luxury packaging market, both on the second day.

Decision-makers will obtain, in the light of these exchanges, precise ideas about how they might be packaging their future products,” organisers have stated.
