MakeUp New York conference to focus on the future of color cosmetics

MakeUp New York will open its doors again between September 23 – 24 in New York City, and this year’s comprehensive conference program will focus on the future color cosmetics.

According to the organizers, the two day conference program will include more than 17 speakers and 12 presentations all focused on what these industry professionals predict will be happening in the category in the coming years.

“What is the status of the color cosmetic industry in the United States and what are the drivers for future development ?” has been the sole objective for the event over the years, the organizers say.

An overview of the color cosmetics category

The program will kick off on the first day of the event with an ‘Overview of Color Cosmetics in the US’, which will feature Kissura Mondesir, analyst with the NPD Group, who will be looking at innovations, key trends and identifying the biggest opportunities.

The Japan, Korea and France markets will be the focus of a presentation on the same day by Florence Bernadin, from Information & Inspiration – a franco-Japanese team of experts specialising on information about these three important markets.

In the presentation Bernadin will be explaining about the different ideals for beauty in these three very different markets and will explain how this manifests itself in the individual markets for color cosmetics.

Two round table discussions to look out for

The program will also include two comprehensive round table discussion, which will take place on the first and second afternoon’s of the conference.

On the first afternoon, the round table will focus on ‘The California Make-up Scene’, bringing experts Samantha Cutler of Smashbox, Bill Hughes of Bare Escentuals and Ingrid Jackel of Physician’s Formula to give their individual takes on this distinctive market.

On the second afternoon, the round table discussion will be focused on the ‘Future of Packaging’ and will draw on a select panel of professionals and students who are involved in the Rutgers University Packaging Engineering Program.
