The new sales office will be located in Dusseldorf, and joins the innovation campus, 3 production sites, 7 sales offices the company has around the world which have helped the company become one of the key players in the biotechnology industry.

In terms of cosmetics applications, the majority of bioactive substances appear in anti-ageing and anti-cellulite formulations.
While Human Nutrition and Pharmaceuticals are the key end-user segments of biotech products, the Cosmetics and Personal Care segment is expected to be the fastest growing end-user over the next few years.

With the new office, strategic partnerships will be strengthened and a better support will be guaranteed, and Galactic will be able to increase its potential for industrial, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical applications.

Company background
The company whose core business was initially focused on lactic acid and its derivatives now has a diversified solutions portfolio and expansion worldwide.
It all started with the setup of the first laboratory in a former café in Brussels in 1991. In 1994 Galactic was officially created and one year later, the company moved to Escanaffles where the first plant was established.
In 1998, Galactic was already the second largest producer worldwide with exports across 40 countries.
The company continued to grow and went East in 2002 with a plant in China. Three years later, a new plant came into operation in the USA. In 2010, 2012 and 2013, new sales offices opened in Japan, Brazil and Italy in addition to the new innovation campus in Brussels.
