10th edition of PCD to gather some 3,400 brand experts

The cosmetics packaging event is gearing up to open its doors next month where 3,400 brand experts and packagers will gather from 60 countries to network and see the industry's latest innovative and sustainable efforts.

The event is set to play host to over 200 exhibitors like Albéa, Gerresheimer and Mega Airless, taking place on February 5th & 6th at the Espace Champerret, Paris in parallel with the 8th edition of the Aerosol & Dispensing Forum, a format that proved popular in 2013 among brands using dispensing technologies.

Those attending will able to connect with various cosmetics and perfume packaging industry professionals including raw material suppliers, machinery manufacturers and customized packaging producers.

Conference programme

This year a comprehensive conference programme will feature six sessions over two days covering topics like technical packaging innovations, patents and of course, sustainability.

Featured speakers will include representatives from L’Oréal, Chanel Parfums Beauté, Bormioli Luigi and Dupont.

Hervé Bouix of Estée Lauder will chair a session looking at technical packaging innovations and prospects in cosmetics and make-up. This session will address various issues faced by packaging manufacturers, such as sustainable development, decoration techniques and sensoriality and innovation and technology transfers.

A similar session on packaging innovations and prospects for perfumes will see experts share their latest knowledge on forming techniques, recycled glass and coatings. Elsewhere during the conference sessions, L’Oréal packaging executives Pierre Ducastin and Olivier de Lataulade will delve into recent advances in secondary packaging.

PCD Awards

The opening address at the Awards ceremony will be given by Mr. Francis Chauveau Directeur Général Adjoint en charge des Affaires Industrielles, Hermès International, France, on the subject of the environment, business areas and the role played by SMEs.

The 10th edition of the event will also feature the PCD Awards, where the best packaging innovations as selected by a panel of experts will be announced. Lancôme’s La Vie est Belle fragrance, Givenchy’s Le Rouge lipstick and L’Occitane’s Bonne Mère skin care product were just some of the creations recognized during the 2013 awards.

In 2013 at the 9th edition of PCD, 170 suppliers of packaging, dispensing systems, services and technologies exhibited at the show, which attracted more than 3,000 participants from 56 countries.
