According to Cosmetics Europe, the Personal Care Association, Germany is Europe’s premier market, and Euromonitor figures show that Brazil’s cosmetics market is the third biggest market in the world, which has prompted show organisers to pair the two in-focus at the show.
“This is the first time we’ve taken the show to Hamburg and we’re gearing up for another action-packed edition with more visitor attractions and educational content than ever before,” says Lucy Gillam, Event Director for in-cosmetics.
“The new Brazil Country Focus will add a new dimension to the show, offering visitors a unique opportunity to gain insight into this vibrant market.”
First country focus
It is the first time the European show will have a country focus, following on from its Asian edition which concentrated on Korea this year.
This ‘focus’ will mean a dedicated programme of events including a Brazil Product Trail, Marketing Trends presentations, a Workshop and a Brazil exhibitor pavilion, all supported by ABIHPEC (Brazilian Association of the Cosmetics, Toiletry and Fragrance Industry).
All of the old favourites return too, with a packed educational programme focusing on the latest marketing trends, targeted workshops, as well as the Innovation Zone, where visitors can discover new ingredient launches from all corners of the globe and view live demonstrations.
Reed exhibitions says the ‘Fragrance in Cosmetics’ and ‘Testing and Regulation’ Zones launched in 2013 have both increased in size following their success at last year’s Paris event, which attracted more than 9,300 unique visitors from around the globe.
With six months until the doors open, in-cosmetics 2014 is already close to selling out, with more than 600 exhibitors preparing for the opening in Hamburg on 1 – 3 April 2014.
Changes in the making
It has also been a busy time for the event’s organisers, as the team has seen a number of appointments and reshuffles.
Lucy Gillam was promoted to Senior Event Director, responsible for the overall management of the in-cosmetics group’s portfolio of personal care ingredients events, including the Europe, Asia, and newly-launched Brazil editions.
Former Group Marketing Manager, Cathy Laporte takes on the role of Exhibition Manager, responsible for the planning, operational management and delivery of all aspects of the event.
Daniel Zanetti is appointed as Exhibition Manager for in-cosmetics Brazil, whilst Dijana Pejovic has been promoted to Head of Sales for the in-cosmetics portfolio.
“We’re very excited to be expanding our team on the in-cosmetics portfolio. The international beauty industry is thriving – in Europe, Asia and South America – so it made sense to grow our team in-line with this,” comments Ian Crawford, Portfolio Director, B2B Division at Reed Exhibitions.
