Oat Cosmetics secures distribution deal giving it access to the Europe’s largest market

Specialist ingredients provider Oat Cosmetics says it has ensured access to the France and Belgium markets through an agreement with distributor Cornelius Group.

Through the agreement Cornelius will distribute Oat Cosmetics’ portfolio of Ecocert and Cosmos certified ingredients to leading suppliers throughout these two markets, including OatCom, Oat Lipid and Oat SOF.

The move to expand its distribution footprint into the French market is particularly important, as not only is this the biggest consumer market in Europe, but it is also the biggest country for the industry itself, being home to the world’s biggest cosmetics player L’Oreal.

Large range of products with multi-functionality

“We believe Colloidal Oatmeal to be an efficient multi-functional and affordable ingredient, the Ecocert/Cosmos certification represents another key added-value enabling Oat COM to be used in in certified Natural & Organic brands,” said Valérie Hryciuk-Lavaux, business development manager at Cornelius Group.

“Moreover we are very impressed to see the large range of applications that Oat Cosmetics extruded Colloidal Oatmeal can be used in.”

The fact that the entire range is natural-based, with the primary ingredient being oats, as well as being certified, also taps into one of the fastest growing areas in the industry, that of natural and organic cosmetic and personal care products.

France has the highest spend on natural cosmetics in Europe

Indeed, France has the highest per capita consumption rates of natural and organic cosmetic products in Europe and is also one of the highest in the world.

“The Cornelius Group are a highly respected distributor within the personal care industry, and we are confident that their professional, experienced and enthusiastic team will spearhead sales of our enhanced oat ingredients in the extremely important French and Belgium market,” said Angus Robertson, Business Development Manager at Oat Cosmetics.

Back in 2011 the company signed a distribution deal with UK-based ProTec to extend its distribution in both the UK markets and in Europe. The most recent agreement plans to build on the existing agreement with ProTec.
