Rexam purchase already paying dividends as ‘new’ Albéa offers complete solutions

The acquisition of Rexam’s Personal Care business, finalized at the start of the year, has allowed beauty packager Albéa to take on a new strategy and enhance its solutions for the cosmetics market.

Having always been strong in the skin care and color cosmetics segment, the France-based firm can now enhance its fragrance offering and produce complete solutions with both tubes and pumps, a spokesperson told CosmeticsDesign.com USA at the Luxe Pack event in New York.

The full range of innovative personal care packaging solutions from the ‘new’ Albéa will be highlighted by its new, integrated airless pump + tube; a high-protection and cost-efficient format.

Marjorie Vincenti, Communications & Brand Identity manager at Albéa, tells this publication that these new high-protection systems are made in North America as well as in Europe, which gives it ‘glocal’ appeal, meaning it serves local market needs.

‘New’ Albéa

The new solutions represent the enhanced capability of the ‘new’ Albéa, which now offers complete pack solutions for industry reference dispensers, such as the Nea and SP343, for lotion formulations, as well as the SP32 for spray formulations, along with its tube production.

The first examples of Albéa’s new synergy are the airless pump + tube offerings showcased at Luxe Pack New York.

“The ‘new’ Albéa will help customers simplify product development efforts, shorten supply chains and build their brands,” says Doug Jackson, market manager North America.

According to Jackson, the tubes offer the industry’s widest range of customization, including decoration technologies such as flexography, silkscreen, offset and hot stamping.

“All visual effects – whether photo-like, metallic-looking, matte and gloss or 3D printing -- are available with airless pump + tube solutions to support customer creativity,” he adds.

Pack specifics

The SP343 dispenser offers a wide range of finishes and actuator designs, and the ability to handle a wide range of viscosities.

The Nea’s 100 percent neutrality provides additional protection for formulations and its high suction rate and soft actuation handles high viscosities.

Available now are 25mm and 30mm diameter pumps with the NEA pump and 25, 30 and 35mm with the SP343 pump, covering filling capacities from 15ml to 125ml. New formats will be launched in coming months for higher capacities.
