Dow ingredient launches focus on sustainability and anti-ageing

Dow is launching three new personal care ingredients at in-cosmetics Paris, each of which taps into leading trends that are currently driving the industry.

Ecosense 3000 surfactant is a plant-based surfactant that is said to be biodegradeable and well suited to mild cleansing products, while MoistStar is a longer-lasting moisturisation ingredient that the company claims has additional benefits to boost the Hyaluronic acid included in the formulation.

The Ecosense is said to be ideal for a range of shampoos and conditioners, body wash and bubble bath products and baby wipes  as well as  hand and facial cleansers, while being made from 100 per cent vegetal origin, is solvent-free.

Sustainability means biodegradeable and natural

MoistStar HA  + Moisturizing Technology has been developed for facial moisturising creams and gels, hand and body creams, as well as anti-aging serums to give enhanced skin moisturisation, while being cold processable and free of parabens.

“The global audience and focus on improving the well-being and satisfaction of increasingly demanding consumers make it an ideal venue to introduce our newest ingredients, both of which were specifically developed in response to our customers’ need for more effective skin care and sustainable cleansing ingredients,” said Carlos Silva Lopes, global marketing director for Dow.

“We are also highly focused on developing new solutions in response to consumers seeking experiences that can create new sensations and make their lives easier through added convenience, and are inviting personal care players to test our new product concepts that will help shape the future of skin care products.”

Interactive demonstrations and seminar presentation

The company says it is planning to have interactive customer demonstration sessions to highlight the new launches and the company’s existing personal care portfolio range on the booth during the show.

It is also participating at the in-cosmetics innovation seminar, with a demonstration of its solutions for the thermal protection of hair, which will take place at the innovation theatre 1, on April 17, between 3:45pm and 4:15pm.

The in-cosmetics Europe show will this year take place in Paris at the Port de Versailles expo hall, from April 16 – 18, where the Cosmetics Design editorial team will be reporting on all the latest innovations and trends.
