Rieke launches streamline pump design

Packaging player Rieke Dispensing has launched a new design for its RS3 dispenser, aimed achieving a sleeker and more streamlined look for cosmetic products.

The new design for the RS3 Talon is due to be unveiled publicly for the first time at the Cosmoprof 2013, but Cosmetics Design has secured the first photos of the newly designed pump, which can be seen in the photo to the right of this article.

The company chose to redesign the pump in light of the continuing pressure on finished goods manufacturers to make their products stand out on shelves by using designs that are functional as well as being aesthetically pleasing.

Right now, in Europe and other developed markets, the pressure to compete with a plethora of products for over-crowded store shelf space often means that one of the most important issues is getting the right look for the packaging can be make or break for its success.

New design targets luxury segment

The company says that the new design has been incorporated to target the luxury end of the market and the design process was undertaken with the consultation of one of the leading cosmetic companies on the market, also a Rieke customer.

The new pump design is also available in a range of choices, including smooth and ribbed finishes, as well as colours, labelling options and metallisation.

The design also includes a number of functional benefits, including ease of use, functionality and accurate dosing, while the manufacturer also claims that its non-metal construction is shower proof and ensures reliability.

Choice of dose measures

Further to this, the dispenser can also be specified as 1ml to 3ml dosing amounts, depending on the type of formulation and the recommended amount for a single use, while it is also suitable to a wide range of viscosity.
