The Netherlands based manufacturer of gelatine and collagen peptides says it wants to expand further into the skin care category on the back of new clinical trials as well as expanding its production into Brazil.
The company says that clinical trials conducted in France have documented how its Peptan F ingredient works on the skin structure from the inside out, resulting in what is claimed to be visible anti-ageing effects.
The clinical trials, which were carried out earlier this year by COSderma laboratories, used advanced skin assessment technologies, including laser scanning, to assess the in-vivo effects of oral ingestion fish Peptan collagen, when contrasted with a placebo on skin.
Clinical trials confirm anti-ageing benefits
The company claims that the test underlined the fact that the oral ingestion of the Peptan collagen, which falls into the growing beauty from within category, not only reconfirms the benefits of the ingredient, but will also help serve to bolster the company’s product claims.
The Peptan collagen works by stimulating the production of collagen in skin cells, which serves to strengthen the integrity of the skin molecular integrity, ultimately making it appear smoother and firmer.
The ingredient is also marketed to help promote healthy joints and bones, thanks to the effect it has on preventing cartilage matrix degradation, together with sports nutrition and supplements for the elderly, thanks to the effect of high levels of arginine, which can stimulate muscle performance.
Expanding Peptan production globally
The company says that since it started to promote a wider variety of applications for its Petan ingredients, demand has started to increase significantly for the product range on a world wide basis.
In answer to this increased demand, the company says it has made the decision to expand its global production with the addition of a new state-of-the art production facility in Amparao, approximately 50kms North of Sao Paulo.
The facility, which is due to come online during the course of 2013, will operate alongside the Peptan F fish and porcine manufacturing operations that are centered in Angoulême, Central France.
