The conference will take place at the Maritim proArte Hotel in Berlin, Germany, from November 6 – 7, and will focus on the latest developments in this fast growing area for packaging with a more environmentally friendly slant.
In particular the event organisers say the programme will focus on the recycling of bio plastics, an area that is of growing importance to cosmetic and personal care company who are coming under increasing pressure to be more transparent about their manufacturing practices and provide more eco-friendly solutions.
Keynote presentation to focus on bioeconomy
Invited speakers include industry associations, leading consumer goods companies, major chemical and packaging companies, such as DuPont, BioAmber, Coca-Cola, HTP and Purac.
One of the keynote presentations this year will be given by Dr. Alfredo Aguilar Romnillos, European Commission, DG Research an Innovation, who will give a speech entitled The EU Bioeconomy Strategy & Bioplastics.
Another keynote speech will be given by Andy Sweetman, chairman of the European Bioplastics group, who will be kicking off the presentations on the first morning of the conference programme with an overview about the current state of the bioplastics market, entitled From Niche to Mainstream.
End-of-Life Bioplastics
Other presentation programmes planned for the first day will include five presentations and a panel discussions on the fast growing area of End-of-Life of Bioplastics - Recycling, while the two afternoon sessions will concentrate on the areas of New Application and Process and the Composting / Biodegradation process.
The second day of the conference programme, on November 7th, will be split into three principal area, each consisting of three separate speakers.
The areas will include Environmental Performance and then two separate sessions both devoted to Strategic Market Development, with the conference programme scheduled to be rounded of by a summary presentation from Sweetman.
