According to the specialty chemicals company, the coating is compatible with most post consumer packaging like PET and is applicable for use in a wide range of bonding temperatures and humidity conditions, and can be used wherever strong seals at low temperatures are required.
BlisterBond Pro is said to be an efficient and versatile alternative to existing technologies while maximizing compatibility with various packaging like PET, lowering VOCs than traditional solvent-based formulations, minimizing variations in production due to humidity and temperature, maximizing adhesion strength and enhancing blocking resistance.
According to global business manager Matt Timmons, “Lubrizol’s market leading expertise and polymer technology have enabled us to develop packaging coating technology specifically designed to meet the demands of carded blister converters for improved performance and lower in-line processing costs without the VOC challenges of a solvent-based coating."
Other innovations
Back in March, the speciality chemicals company launched its latest Fixate Design polymer, designed specifically for use in hair styling applications.
According to the company, the versatility of the Fixate Design polymer provides formulators with creative options and degrees of freedom while maintaining superior performance in mousses, curling creams and sprays and a wide variety of other hair styling applications.
When used in styling applications, the anionic, multi-functional film-forming polymer is said to deliver high humidity resistance, exceptional shine, little to no flaking, enhanced volume and distinctive sensory.
Other formulation benefits are said to include resistance to high humidity, a low viscosity response to neutralization and dosing concentration and is also easy to remove with shampoo.
