The organisers of the in-cosmetics Asia trade show have released the educational programme for the upcoming event in Bangkok, highlighting hair care and regulation as the key talking points in the region.

Regulations continue to increase across the EU and Asia, and with no central regulatory body in existence in Asia, industry players face the constant struggle of keeping up with the latest changes.

A dedicated half-day Regulations Workshop at in-cosmetics Asia aims to guide manufacturers through the most recent developments and how they will be affected, both now and in the future.

The first session, led by CONUSBAT’s technical director Dr Annelie Struessman will focus on EU: Preparation for the Regulation Implementation. This will be followed by Wendell Wei of China Gate detailing requirements for registration, the regulatory agencies involved and their responsibilities in Asia, before Dr Alain Khaiat of Seers Consulting addresses an overview of the changes in Korea.

“This workshop will provide an excellent opportunity to learn, or to refresh, one’s knowledge on the regulatory frameworks in Europe, China, ASEAN and Korea. Regulations are ever changing and everybody within the industry is struggling to remain at the forefront of these changes,” says Khaiat.

Anti-ageing hair care

Hair care is the other hot topic at this year’s event, following the introduction of a host of innovative hair care products, from anti-ageing shampoos to hair loss tonics.

The event will host a stand-alone workshop, led by Dr Meei-Lih Lin from Procter & Gamble looking at Hair Physiology and Hair Care Sensory Evaluation.

This session has attracted contributions from some of the biggest names from within the industry, including L’Oreal, who invited CosmeticsDesign-Europe to visit its newly opened dedicated hair research centre in St Ouen, Paris.

L’Oreal’s Mr Umesh Padke will look at the latest Trends in Haircare.touching on the company’s launch of its revolutionary ingredient to awaken dormant hair and enhance hair density, which this publication exclusively covered.

in-cosmetics Asia will place from 6-8 November 2012 at BITEC, Bangkok, Thailand. For more on the educational programme go to www.in-cosmeticsasia.com
