Tapping into the fast moving shift towards increasingly sophisticated online tools designed for formulation professionals, the Silab innovation targets the increasing number of business professionals who use tablets and smart phones to optimise their work routine.
Silab says that its mobile site has been designed in terms of both the content and the ergonomics to allow for simple navigation, an optimised small-screen appearance, improved functionality and quick page download.
The functionality includes five principal categories, which includes a company section to explain about the business and its fundamentals, a news section, a products section job and training offers and a Contact function.
News section targets latest launches and technologies
Specific to these functions, the news section contains information about the company's latest product launches, technological innovations, and has the added functionality of allowing uses to integrate the platform with their Outlook calendar iCal or Google Agenda.
Likewise, the product section lists all the Silab natural active ingredients according to the specific categories, skin care, hair care and certified organic products, providing a search engine for quick access to the entire product catalogue.
The mobile site is also linked to a personalized Quick Response (QR) codes, which is a matrix bar code that stores all the necessary information to make direct access to the mobile site and all its functionality just by swiping it with a smart phone or tablet device.
BASF also launches a mobile device enabled website
Silab is one of a number of industry suppliers that are reaching out to their customers with mobile and tablet enabled websites to help make their sourcing and buying processes more efficient.
Last month one of the biggest ingredient suppliers to the cosmetic and personal care industry announced the launch of its new website dedicated to its newly created personal care division, Care Creations.
The Care Creations brand was announced in April of this year and the new website, www.carecreations.basf.com , provides an easy to navigate look in on the type of solutions it now offers, as well as highlighting the ideas behind the developments.
The websites includes a mobile-friendly function which allows the site to be accessed by every type of device, from PC and laptops to tablets and smart phones – an innovation that is line with the way formulation professionals do business today.
