Zinc Oxide is used in a wide range of cosmetics and personal care products including make-up, nail products, baby lotions, bath soaps and sunscreens; where it displays effective protection against UV exposure.
The new LSA ZnO product developed by Nanophase has been done with the support of global chemical company BASF.
According to Nanophase, this new product allows BASF to expand its offerings of inorganic, full-spectrum UV absorbers with superior transparency which addresses a growing trend in sunscreens and daily wear cosmetics.
Expanding into a large market
The Germany-headquartered company launched Nanophase’s LSA Zinc Oxide under its Z-Cote brand name on at the NYSCC Suppliers’ Day Show.
"Expansion of our Zinc Oxide business in the Personal Care market and our partnership with BASF continue to be critical success factors for Nanophase,” said the company’s vice president of Sales and Marketing, David Nelson.
“The development of this new LSA product will help maintain and drive long-term revenue growth in this market for Nanophase. This is currently the largest market for Nanophase, an area where we excel in providing consistent, high quality materials that exceed customer needs."
