In-Cosmetics ingredients launch round-up II

In the second of a two-part series, CosmeticsDesign-Europe.com continues its look at some of the new ingredients being presented by exhibitors at this years in-cosmetics in Barcelona from 17-19th April 2012.

Germany-based Rovi Cosmetics has selected in-cosmetics in Barcelona as the platform through which to launch its Dermoprotectly cellular active for sun care applications onto the European marketplace.

According to the company, the dual-action technology of the ingredient delivers anti-oxidants into the skin to counteract free radicals while offering a first line of protection through UV filters attached to the skin’s surface.

Biovelop launches DentaGlucan

Elsewhere at the event, Swedish company Biovelop is launching its DentaGlucan oat beta glucan ingredient for oral care. The company says the ingredient is designed to reduce irritation in the mouth caused by the use of teeth-whitening products or brushing.

Tri-K Industries will be present at the show with its new TRIglyphix Sense active designed to reduce the adverse effects of shaving, while Lessonia is launching its new red powder pigment, Microzest25 Monacolin Red.

Two launches from Dr. Straetmans 

Meanwhile, Dr. Straetmans of Germany is unveiling two new ingredients, Dermofeel GO Soft, an emulsifier developed for water in oil formulations which is suitable for use in sun care and baby care applications, and Dermosoft Decalact Deo, a deodorant active that has been shown to provide 24 hour protection.

New scientific data

In addition to new launches at in-cosmetics, several companies will be presenting new studies at the event that have been performed on existing ingredients. 

Arkema unveils polyamide powders

In line with the ‘Solar Beauty’ theme of the in-focus section, French chemicals player Arkema is unveiling a new study into the behavior of its Orgasol ultrafine polyamide powders in formulation.

The company will also be presenting Summer Breeze, a new collection of formulas for summer containing Orgasol Caresse.

At the same time, Fancor (Elementis) is presenting the results of a new study into the fragrance retention abilities of its Meadowquat HG-70 conditioning agent for skin and hair care, while Desert King will unveil the outcome of a study on the sebum regulating properties of its Andean QDP Organic extract.
