Expanscience now officially a member of UEBT!

Laboratoires Expanscience has announced it is officially the first French pharmaceutical laboratory to become a member of the Union for Ethical BioTrade.

According to the company, who has been an active supporter of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) since 2004, the membership “underlines our commitment to promoting biodiversity and buying plant raw materials from fair trade sources”.

The company's goals for 2015 are to reduce deforestation, promote traditional farming best practices and provide producers with an additional source of revenue.

To be eligible to join UEBT, Expanscience was audited by an independent firm, whereby nine key indicators were examined, including respect for biodiversity, human rights and traditional expertise, as well as compliance with ethical practices in business and fair distribution of revenues throughout the supply chain.

UEBT is an international non-profit organization that works to promote ethical practices in the supply of ingredients that come from native biodiversity.
