In the presence of a positive stimulus, the natural active is said to work as a synergistic enhancer of the production of male pheromone, androstadienone.
“We have demonstrated in vitro, how Sensfeel activates the production of androstadienone, the pheromone responsible for the sexual attraction in men,” a company spokesperson told CosmeticsDesign-Europe.com.
How it works
Androstadienone, in recent years has been shown to have a positive influence on how women percieve or are attracted to men.
In addition, polyphenols obtained from Camellia sinensis (black tea) leaves featured in the active, reduce the activity to decrease androstadienone metabolization and cause its accumulation. By activating the synthesis of this pheromone, the active therefore increases physical attraction.
Tried and tested
According to Provital, the creation of a suitable cellular model able to produce pheromones was necessary to evaluate Sensfeel in vitroefficacy.
“Progenitor keratinocytes, which can differentiate to sebocytes under certain conditions were selected, while originated sebocytes were identified and characterized. Ultimately, they showed their ability to produce pheromones, especially androstadienone,” explains the spokesperson.
The natural active ingredients were then tested in pairs with complementary activities Forskolin and Theaflavins. Thereafter, the complex was said to increase the production of androstadienone by 158 per cent.
Overall, Provital scientists found the amount of pheromone increases parallel to the concentration of Sensfeel, reached three times the control result at the maximum dosage.
The active is recommended at 1-2 per cent for any type of men’s care products such as after-shave, deodorant, shower gel, body milk and body lotion.
“Usually similar kinds of products on the market contain pheromones, we make man’s own pheromones synthesise, no artificial and external pheromones added. This is completely new and different,” concluded the company spokesperson.
